As a life long dog lover and living near the ocean, I know the importance of keeping our beloved pets safe when we are on or near the water. Although  most (but contrary to what most people think) dogs can swim, if they are accidentally knocked overboard, they can lose consciousness. Or if they jump in the water chasing something, they can tire out.

Having a life jacket on your dog is just another way to show him/her how much you love him.
